Let me introduce myself. I will be brief.
I am a DIVA.
Many people have tried to define my charismatic personality. Pedantic (pardon, charming) dramatic and fussy are some of the most repeated epithets they use to refer to me.
However, after many years of analizan the great ladies of the scene, I have concluded that I share with artist like La Callas, La Xirgu, even Pinito del Oro, that kind of “je ne se qua” that makes me bright when coming into theaters, auditoriums and circus with lights and claps (ok, some times I need to use my phone´s flashlight… but that is a secret between us). That´s way I have decided to surrender and repress my natural modesty and recite (of course, I would never yell) my status as a diva.
What an instagrmmable squad we would be!
Can you image it? Likes pouring out in stories playing Shakespeare, Choreographies by Diáguilev in TikTok and… why not? champagne and cupcakes while doing nothing with Marina Abramovich!
I also would like to take advantage of this first meeting with you to clarify the origin os my artistic name (the real one, probably you will never know it). I am BUFANDILLO.
It is because due to my precious voice, I need to protect it so I always wear a long scarf (scarf in Spanish is said bufanda and bufandillo is a kind joke about the length). If I had been worn in Shakespeare land…my name probably would have been Smarty Scarfy but I was born in the same country as Lorca, Lope de Vega, María Guerrero….so please, do not forget: BU-FAN-DI-LLO.
I think this is all you have to Know about me for now… If you want more, stay tuned!
Lights are going out. I
The curtain rises.
¡Bravo!
